I hold a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of psychotherapy and social work, particularly when it comes to working with clients who have experienced trauma. I demonstrate a deep commitment to my work with first responders, Indigenous Peoples, and those who have experienced childhood trauma. I work with each individual to addressing the unique needs and challenges of their experience.
I use of various therapeutic modalities such as trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. An elective approach offers a comprehensive and wholistic approach to healing the trauma. With the use of evidence-based approaches can be highly effective in helping individuals process and overcome their traumatic experiences.
My educational background is extensive, which includes a Doctorate in Higher Education and Leadership (EdD), a Master of Social Work (MSW), and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree, further underscores my qualifications and commitment to the field. I have a strong foundation in both academic knowledge and practical experience, which is invaluable in helping clients on their healing journey.
I am guided by an empathic and understanding approach and emphasize the importance of finding the right therapist. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial in helping clients heal from trauma and work towards recovery. Should I not be the right fit Mindful Path Counselling has a team of therapists that may meet your needs, check out other bios under the team page.
Overall, my extensive experience, specialized knowledge, and commitment to trauma-informed care supports my work with individuals, couples/relationship(s), and families. Through my dedication to helping clients regulate their nervous systems and create meaning in their lives is an underling value in my work.
