Some of our Social Workers/Psychotherapists can facilitate walk-n-talk therapy instead of or in combination with traditional counselling in the office. This form of treatment incorporates walking outdoors while speaking about your presenting issues with the Social Worker/Psychotherapist.
Benefits:
This therapy will encourage you to be more physically active and often help you get “unstuck” when confronting complex issues.
Challenges:
This may not be good if you experience physical health challenges that limit your ability to walk for up to one hour in length.
Goals:
Getting outdoors allows you to tap into your creativity and deeper thinking that is often released by mood-improving physical activity.
*Please note this therapy is only offered between 9:00 – 5:00 pm during the Spring, Summer, and Fall.
