I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology, a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University, and I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).I am fortunate to have had opportunities to grow personally and professionally through my previous work experience as a counsellor and advocate for folks who have experienced gender-based violence, as a counsellor and group facilitator in a health care setting, and in various postsecondary student support roles.
I am passionate about supporting the development of others so that they can access the knowledge, resources, and skills needed to feel well as a whole person. I take an integrative approach to counselling, using a variety of methods and practices to address the root causes of your challenges in creative ways that meet your unique, present-day needs.
In my work with clients, I seek to understand the multiple, intersecting pieces of one’s identity, and acknowledge the burdens of systemic inequities on an individual’s life experience. Central to my practice is my commitment to creating a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental space for folks to feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are so that they can show up in the world in an empowered way. Starting counselling is a brave and admirable step, and I am here to walk alongside you as you learn to access your inner wisdom and strengths to create the changes you want to see in your life.
If you are a youth or adult who is experiencing challenges around self-esteem or self-worth, low mood or low life satisfaction, anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community and would like to meet with a counsellor with lived experience as a queer, cisgender woman, I would love to meet with you to explore your goals for counselling and co-create a plan for healing that goes beyond our time together in session. You are worthy of a life you love
