Brantford (Highland) + Virtual:
Hello and welcome! As a clinical therapist, my practice is focused on women’s mental health and well-being. I aim to provide gender-responsive and holistic supportive treatment for women’s emotional health during diverse experiences of pregnancy, postpartum, grief, trauma, and sexuality. This includes birth and reproductive trauma, perinatal mood disorders, relationship issues, body dysmorphia, sexual assault, and coping with infertility and loss. I believe in the importance of supporting individuals through the various complexities and challenges of life, recognizing which of those may be inherent to the female lived experience.
My practice is trauma-focused, strength-based, inclusive, and person-centred. My role is to support you and empower you on your journey toward mental wellness, health and healing. My therapeutic approach uses a collaborative and integrative model that incorporates a variety of theories and perspectives. This includes the principles of Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I am a believer in the mind-body connection and the power of a regulated nervous system (nervous system reset and healing). I incorporate somatic interventions, mindfulness, and breathwork to reset the nervous system and encourage a greater sense of resilience, embodiment, and grounding. I believe that a holistic and integrative approach to therapy maximizes your self-determination and self-empowerment.
My background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (BA), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and a Master of Social Work (MSW). I hold specialized certifications in breastfeeding/chestfeeding, international development, somatic therapy for complex trauma, birth and reproductive trauma, perinatal mental health, and women’s mental health.
If you think we may work well together, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
