Who we’re looking for

We are seeking enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated Registered Social Workers and Psychotherapists to join our innovative and busy practice. Our counselling services are available in person, virtually, over the phone, and through walk-and-talk sessions. We also provide animal-assisted therapy.

Our hybrid service model empowers you, as an independent contractor, to have autonomy and flexibility over your schedule. You are expected to deliver services in alignment with Mindful Path Counselling standards, as well as those of your respective professional college and industry practice standards.

We are looking to add team members who are:

We are in search of a therapist or social worker who holds a Master’s degree, either an MSW or MACP, with a preference for those holding a Doctorate. Candidates must be registered with either the CRPO or the OCSWSSW.

Applicants should have at least one post-graduate certification in any of the following therapeutic modalities: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy (BSFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), EMDR, Trauma-Informed Care, Gottman Method (for couples therapy), or Relational Family Therapy.

We are looking for a therapist with a minimum of 3 years of experience who can work independently with minimal supervision. Applicants should have prior experience in working with at least two of the following groups: individuals, couples, or families.

Additionally, experience and expertise in serving specialized groups — including 2SLGBTQI+, racialized individuals, international communities, Indigenous Peoples, post-secondary students, individuals of various faith orientations, veterans, first responders, and those with chronic immune disorders — will be considered a valuable asset.

Our ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office, practice management software, and electronic medical records, and be comfortable engaging and participating in our active social media accounts through posts, reels, IGTV, and stories.
We are looking for a warm and approachable person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who will reflect a sense of warmth, respect, and safety to their clients.

We are looking for therapists who can conduct both short-term and long-term counselling files, with the ability to maintain accurate and complete clinical files with thorough case notes.

A working knowledge and abiding of ethical standards of the Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information and Privacy Act (PHIPA), The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Health Care Consent Act, Substitute Decision Makers’ Act, Child and Family Service’s Act, Access for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and the Regulated Health Professionals Act is essential.

We are looking for team members who are able to: work evenings and weekends, schedule a minimum 5 appointments in a row, and who are available to work in person for a minimum of 10 hours (or 2 shifts) with a third shift virtually.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be willing to engage in an anti-oppressive practice while working to build assessment, and treatment plans working with clients.
  • Have the ability to engage in a self-reflexive practice to work from a growth mindset.
  • Be able to deliver counselling safely and competently in another language, Spanish, and French are an asset
  • Be interested in continued professional development and continuing education with opportunities for group discounts with your peer contract providers.

Mentorship from the director with over seventeen years of experience in counselling and the field of social work, as well as access to training and helpful resources. Monthly group supervision, included.

Ongoing referrals are funneled to you from the practice and through you and your peers Psychology Today profiles.
Therapists are compensated with competitive splits and an Incentive program where you can earn up to an additional 10% based on clinical hours, and time with the practice.

Our Founder

Stephanie Dinsmore has more than 17 years of counselling experience. As the owner and founder of Mindful Path Counselling a group private practice operating in-person in Brantford/Brant, Simcoe, Toronto, and Kitchener, and virtually across Ontario and British Columbia.

With over seventeen fully licensed social workers & psychotherapists with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and languages, Mindful Path Counselling offers counselling to individuals, children, youth, couples, marriages, relationships, and families. It is our top priority to connect clients with a therapist who is the best fit for their unique needs.

Our mission is to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where individuals, children, youth, couple, marriage, relationship(s), and families can explore and feel empowered through cultivating a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.
