While life’s challenges may bring pain and distress, I wholeheartedly believe in one’s ability to persevere. Embracing a trauma-informed approach centred on trust, empowerment, and collaboration, I embark on a journey toward healing and transformation together.
I use an elective model of therapeutic modalities, including trauma-informed care, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and a variety of Person-Centered approaches, including Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFiT) and Narrative Therapy. I aim to use evidence-based approaches to best suit the client’s needs at the moment, and by embracing a variety of modalities and techniques, compassionate healing can begin.
My educational background includes an ongoing Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science (BScFS). My commitment to understanding aspects of oneself often overlooked is highlighted in my attention to detail and commitment to psychotherapy. I have frontline experience working with survivors of domestic violence, along with children who have experienced or witnessed violence in the home; invaluable teachings have allowed me to see beyond the experience to focus on the impact of the experience on individuals and provide trust in the healing journey.
I am guided by the therapeutic relationship developed with empathy, trust, and understanding, and I recognize the need for the right connection for recovery. Should I not be the right fit, please check out other bios on the team page at Mindful Path Counselling for another therapist who may meet your needs.
My experience, education, and commitment to trauma-informed care support my work with individuals. My dedication to helping clients feel safe and secure in the therapeutic environment is an essential value in my work to help individuals create meaning and purpose for a more fulfilling life.
