Hello and welcome! I am a passionate advocate for women’s health and wellbeing, particularly during the transition to motherhood and/or parenthood. I believe in the importance of supporting mothers, parents and families during the complexities of the antepartum and postpartum periods of life. This includes birth and reproductive trauma, perinatal mood disorders (anxiety and depression), relationship issues, and coping with infertility and loss.

My therapeutic practice is trauma-informed, strength-based and solution-focused. My approach is based on an integrative and holistic model that incorporates a wide range of theories and perspectives. I use the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT) and compassion focused therapy (CFT) to guide my practice. I view therapy as a collaborative experience with shared goal-setting and planning. My role is to support you and empower you on your journey toward mental wellness, health and healing. I am also a big believer in the mind-body connection and the power of a regulated nervous system (nervous system reset and healing).

My background is extensive and includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (BA) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN). I am currently completing my Master of Social Work (MSW). I also have certifications in breastfeeding, perinatal nursing and international development. As a former Registered Nurse (currently non-practising), I bring a unique perspective to my therapeutic practice – I have a complex understanding of the bio-medical model and am uniquely positioned to approach mental health from a holistic (bio-psycho-social) perspective. I have experience working with individuals (children, youth and young adults) in an acute mental health setting. I have a thorough understanding of various complex mental health disorders (including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-harm, psychosis, PTSD, OCD and complex family dynamics).

Overall, my experience, knowledge, and commitment to mental health informs my practice with individuals, couples/relationship(s), and families.

As a Social Worker (qualifying), my areas of focus include:
Trauma | Anxiety | Depression | Maternal Mental Health | Women’s Health

If you’re ready to get started, I offer a free 15 minute consult to see if you think we’d work well together.

“Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.”
