As you may have read I am trained in a number of therapeutic modalities/approaches and I don’t tie myself to any one approach. Instead, I come from an integrative or holistic approach and I blend elements from different therapeutic tools and approaches and tailor to the individuals needs.
My clinical work as a psychotherapist is driven by an integrative, strength-based, client centered foundation to help clients optimize their skills, build resilience and cultivate growth. I have over 20 years of combined experience in the social service sector having supported children and their families in child welfare and as a professor at Fanshawe College supporting post-secondary students.
I hold a Masters of Social Work degree from Windsor University and a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Sociology. I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I have obtained certification in Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT) and also utilize Solution-focused therapy, Narrative therapy, Systems theory, Mindfulness-based therapies to guide my work. I continually engage in research-based professional development opportunities that assist me with staying current with new and emerging therapeutic trends and approaches.
